CLOUDHANDS IS BRUCE’S FIRST SOLO CD.

Recorded in late 1996 and early 1997, it was released at the end of 1997 and has received widespread and ongoing praise. It is a mix of eight diverse tracks and is a demonstration of Bruce’s vision and imagination with the didgeridoo.
“The recording of Cloudhands was an important project for me. I wanted to make a CD that was a good showcase for the didgeridoo (not swamped by other instruments), and at the same time varied and interesting.

I also wanted to keep the whole thing as natural as possible. It was recorded on state-of-the-art digital equipment, with the aim of reproducing the sound of the instruments truly. There are no electronic instruments used, and I have kept the ‘tweaking’ in the studio to a minimum. Each song has its own journey and story to tell, each one a part of the whole.” Playing time: 45 min. 53 sec.

CD Review by Scot Gardner, editor, DidjNews.

Every Australian Didjman or Didjwoman should know Bruce Rogers or have at least come into contact with one of his magnificent instruments. Every one of his meticulously handcrafted sticks have been finished for pure aural pleasure—that’s guaranteed…..Bruce is the Stratavarius of Didjeridu.

KEEP GOING IS THE FIRST CD by Bruce’s new band TONGUE N GROOVE.

Pumping lounge and drum’n’bass beats, driving didgeridoo rhythms woven with guitar and very cool trumpet create the sound that is TONGUE N GROOVE. Released in 2004, this CD is destined to be a hit!

“This is music to dance to, music to chill to, music to move your head, your heart and your soul. It is music of the new world, with roots in the oldest of places and traditions.

Call it World Groove – this music directly reflects Australia’s place on the planet. Along with the very European influence of Kruder Dorfmeister, the music also has definite Eastern influences- all inspired by the open space, the traditional people and the very urban society that is Australia.

The name “Tongue n Groove” stands for no lesser a personage than Bruce Rogers. So far we were used to simple musical arrangements from him – and that’s meant positively – with quiet to medium-paced rhythms. This time he seems to have filled our ears with very danceable groove.
